THE
ISLAND'S CAPITAL, ARGOSTOLI |
Argostoli is the Island's
Capital and can be reached by local transport taxi
or car. Most of Argostoli was rebuilt after the
1953 earthquake which gives it a very modern and
cosmopolitan feel. With cafe bars and shops lining
its many streets. The Koutavos lagoon makes a pleasant
walk and is home to many birds and also the Caretta-Caretta
turtles.
There are many beaches and villages to explore close
by, Svoronata, Avithos, Lassi, Spartia, Lakithra,
Ayios Thomas, Trapezaki and Lourdata. |
